Senior members of the Mariemont Football Team recently read to students K-3 in our district's three elementary schools for their first community service project of the 2007 season. All of the players involved read in their old school , many in their same classroom with the same teacher they had years ago. It was a great morning for everyone involved. (Back to Top)

On Saturday May 5th, over 40 Badin football players, coaches & parents participated in the city's annual "Clean Up Hamilton Day". Players began at Badin H.S. on school grounds and proceeded down New London Rd. towards the river and then into groups along 129 (B Street), all the while picking up trash and other items along the roadways for a couple hours. They returned to Badin for Pizza, snacks & drinks. It was a great day for the Rams to give back to the community that has done so much to support and enhance the great tradition of Badin Football over the years. (Back to Top)

McNicholas

On May 11th we will set up for the Garage sale from 4pm to 8pm. It will involve 65 football players for this event. We have done this sale for the last 6 years. (Back to Top)

Kings

Kings movers

Saturday morning, a handful of Kings Football players and coaches took an early morning bus ride to Wilmington to help a family in need. It seems this family has been fighting one battle after another. The couple have had their home on the market for almost two years as they both decided that it was time to downsize. As their luck would have it, the house finally sells. But, unfortunately, The husband had just had knee replacement surgery just days after the sale. The King's players and coaches made quick work while they helped them move out by the designated time so the new family could move in! Their entire family gave the boys a heart-felt and sincere "thank you" at the end of the afternoon. (Back to Top)

The Northwest HS football team walked Pippin Road between our middle school and the high school and picked up trash along the road. This is our second year walking the route and helping to keep our community clean and litter free. Northwest HS football also recently helped our autism unit at Northwest by crushing multiple bags of aluminum cans to be recycled to help raise money for the group. Northwest HS football players will continue every month with a special project to help our community. GO KNIGHTS

Photos above of the Northwest HS football team working at the Walk America on April 28th. The team worked at checkpoint 2 within Paul Brown Stadium. They handed out bananas and water to walkers and runners. They cheered them on and helped keep the participants going and excited to be involved with the walk. The players were at Paul Brown stadium at 7:30 am on Sunday morning to help setup, and left around 11:00 am after cleaning up.

The walk helps raise money for premature births and all of the medical expenses that come with it. (Back to Top)

Loveland Football Players Give Back

Players and coaches from Loveland High School football team spent a day of their spring break helping a Loveland resident. Lou Flores was a high school teacher and coach for over 35 years and he and his wife June longtime Loveland residents. Coach Flores died of cancer in 2001 and his widow has continued to live in Loveland on five wooded acres. The property had many trees that had fallen and needed to be removed.

According to Loveland Varsity Football Coach Andrew Marlatt, more than 40 players, several coaches, and parents spent more than four hours on March 27 removing trees, limbs, and debris from the property. The Loveland football crew was assisted by Loveland resident, Tim Cutter, owner of Cutter's Property Maintenance, who provided a chain saw and a large trailer to place the debris.

"Coach Flores was very influential to me as a young teacher and coach at Fairfield High School in the early 1990's and I wanted to pay tribute to a former high school coach whose widow lives in Loveland and needed help with her property," said Loveland football coach Andrew Marlatt.

Marlatt said that community service will become an annual occurrence for Loveland players. (Back to Top)
