Dear SWOFCA members,
It is an honor for me to be your president. It does not happen too often that the SWOFCA president is not currently coaching. But, that just means I can dedicate more time to SWOFCA and its programs.
I am proud to represent and be a part of SWOFCA. We have great people who dedicate their time, great sponsors, and the support of the local universities and colleges.
We enter the coaching profession to teach others to do something they normally would not do themselves. We affect young people's lives in many ways. We are teachers of a great game, but also of a way of life. We teach respect, courage, diligence, patience, persistence, in essence; character. The young athletes learn they will get knocked down, things are not always going to go smooth, but they learn to get back up and do it again. They learn this with your help and your guidance. They may not realize it now, but later in life those same lessons pay great dividends. We see it every time an old player stops over the house, stops in school, or we run into them at the grocery store with their family.
We are in a great profession. Through this organization we can help each other become better teachers, mentors, role models, and leaders. The more you give the more you get!
I would like to ask everyone to get involved in SWOFCA this year. Be active and attend the meetings. We have developed a camaraderie that mirrors that of your team. Let's strengthen that bond so we may all grow to be better coaches but more important better people.
Thanks to all who contribute and make SWOFCA an outstanding organization. Thanks to all of our members for making a difference in a young person's life. Thanks to all of our sponsors, from the All Star game to the individual meetings. Let's patronize them all we can. We are all in it for the same purpose: to promote the game of football and to make each athlete's life more productive; therefore making our world a better place.
Good luck to all this upcoming season!
Sincerely,
Tim Viox
